1.2.2 Configuring Resources

Select the [Resource] tab of the ROR console and configure resource settings.

Procedures differ depending on the type of L-Server which comprises an L-Platform and the server hardware being used.


L-Servers for Infrastructure Administrators

L-Servers for Infrastructure Administrators can only be used only infrastructure administrators. Tenant administrators and tenant users are not able to use those L-Servers.
Normally, L-Servers can only be used by tenant administrators and tenant users.

The purposes of creation are as follow:

To create an L-Server for the infrastructure administrator, resources must be registered to the global pool.


1.2.2.1 When Creating a Physical L-Server

The flow of configuration of resources when creating a physical L-Server is as follows.

  1. Resource Registration

  2. Register Resources to the Global Pool

  3. Create L-Server Templates

  4. Create an L-Server for the Infrastructure Administrator

  5. Install software on physical L-Servers for infrastructure administrators, and register agents

    1. Install OSs on physical L-Servers for infrastructure administrators

    2. Install required software on physical L-Servers for infrastructure administrators

    3. Install agents on physical L-Servers for infrastructure administrators

    4. Install agents (Dashboard Function) on physical L-Servers for infrastructure administrators

    5. Register agents

  6. Create and Register Cloning Images


1.2.2.2 When Creating a Virtual L-Server

The flow of configuration of resources when creating a virtual L-Server is as follows.
Procedures differ depending on the server virtualization software being used.
For details, refer to "Chapter 8 Configuration when Creating Virtual L-Servers".

    1. Install OSs on VM Hosts

    2. Install Required Software on VM Hosts

    3. Install agents on VM hosts
