Select the [Resource] tab of the ROR console and configure resource settings.
Procedures differ depending on the type of L-Server which comprises an L-Platform and the server hardware being used.
L-Servers for Infrastructure Administrators
L-Servers for Infrastructure Administrators can only be used only infrastructure administrators. Tenant administrators and tenant users are not able to use those L-Servers.
Normally, L-Servers can only be used by tenant administrators and tenant users.
The purposes of creation are as follow:
To collect cloning images (collection is performed by infrastructure administrators)
For details on collecting cloning images, refer to "17.5.1 Collecting and Registering" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
To install VM hosts on physical L-Servers
Refer to "Appendix A Installing VM Hosts on Physical L-Servers".
To install software used for infrastructure (such as VM management software and the like) administration on L-Servers
To create an L-Server for the infrastructure administrator, resources must be registered to the global pool.
The flow of configuration of resources when creating a physical L-Server is as follows.
For details, refer to "Chapter 7 Configuration when Creating Physical L-Servers".
Resource Registration
Register Resources to the Global Pool
Create L-Server Templates
Create an L-Server for the Infrastructure Administrator
Install software on physical L-Servers for infrastructure administrators, and register agents
Install OSs on physical L-Servers for infrastructure administrators
Install required software on physical L-Servers for infrastructure administrators
Install agents on physical L-Servers for infrastructure administrators
Install agents (Dashboard Function) on physical L-Servers for infrastructure administrators
Register agents
Create and Register Cloning Images
The flow of configuration of resources when creating a virtual L-Server is as follows.
Procedures differ depending on the server virtualization software being used.
For details, refer to "Chapter 8 Configuration when Creating Virtual L-Servers".
