3.10.3 Settings for Managing Windows Patches

To manage Windows patches, managed servers must be registered as the computers managed by WSUS.

There are the following two methods for registering managed servers as the computers managed by WSUS, as published by Microsoft. Refer to the information published by Microsoft for details.

Information

Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager provides a connection destination repository server registration command (swcfmg_register_repsv) in order to simplify the task of registering managed servers as the computers managed by WSUS. Refer to the Reference Guide for information on the connection destination repository server registration command.

Note the following points when using the connection destination repository server registration command.

When creating a managed server

Either the tenant administrator or a tenant user should obtain the connection destination repository server registration command from the infrastructure administrator, and then execute the command by copying it to a directory on the managed server.

Registering an existing managed server as the computer managed by WSUS

Either the tenant administrator or a tenant user should obtain the connection destination repository server registration command from the infrastructure administrator, and then execute the command by copying it to an arbitrary directory on the business server.
