The procedure for starting/stopping the SNMP Trap monitoring service of the Management Server differs from when monitoring devices only with SNMPv1 protocol in either of the following cases:
When monitoring devices using only SNMPv3 protocol
When monitoring devices using SNMPv1 protocol and SNMPv3 protocol
When Monitoring Devices Using Only SNMPv1 Protocol
Starting the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Open the Services window.
For Windows Server 2012
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services.
For Windows environment other than above
Click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
Select the SNMP Trap monitoring service, and click Start.
Stopping the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Open the Services window.
For Windows Server 2012
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services.
For Windows environment other than above
Click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
Select the SNMP Trap monitoring service, and click Stop.
Checking the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Open the Services window.
For Windows Server 2012
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services.
For Windows environment other than above
Click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
Check that the Status column of the SNMP Trap monitoring service status is "Started".
Note
The SNMP Trap monitoring service is an OS standard service. Do not stop the SNMP Trap monitoring service unless there is a special reason, because it affects other products such as ServerView AlarmService and ServerView Resource Coordinator VE, etc.
When Monitoring Devices Using Only SNMPv3 Protocol or When Monitoring Devices Using SNMPv1 Protocol and SNMPv3 Protocol
When ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap service is set to be used in "SNMP Trap Setting (for Windows)" in "Setup of Storage Cruiser's Manager" in the ETERNUS SF Installation and Setup Guide, the procedure for starting/stopping the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap service is as follows.
Starting the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Open the Services window.
For Windows Server 2012
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services.
For Windows environment other than above
Click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
Select the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap Service , and click Start.
Stopping the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Open the Services window.
For Windows Server 2012
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services.
For Windows environment other than above
Click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
Select the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap Service , and click Stop.
Checking the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Open the Services window.

Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services.

Click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
Check that the Status column of the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap Service status is "Started".
Starting the service
Open the Services window.

Select the service "ETERNUS SF Manager Tomcat Service", and click Start.
Stopping the service
Open the Services window.

Select the service "ETERNUS SF Manager Tomcat Service", and click Stop.
