This section explains the various ways to operate the license management function.
The license management function can be operated using either the Web Console or the Command Line Interface (CLI). The table below shows the types and methods of operation for handling licenses.

The command is available in all the operating system environments in which ETERNUS SF Manager or AdvancedCopy Manager CCM operates.

Note
License registration and removal from the Web Console can be operated only by users who belong to the ESFAdmin role group.
The license registration command can be executed only by users with administrator privileges.
The meaning of "User with administrative privileges" varies according to the OS as indicated below.
For Linux or Solaris environment, the term referring to "User with administrative privileges" is root (Super user).
For Windows environment, the term referring to the user of belonging to Administrators group.
Before you register licenses from the Web Console, carry out device registration for the ETERNUS Disk storage system. Refer to "4.2.4 Registering Disk Storage System" for the procedure for registering devices of the disk storage system.
If you want to register licenses in a disk storage system for which device registration has not been performed, use the CLI.
The following ETERNUS Disk storage systems can specify the IP address on the command.
ETERNUS DX60/DX80/DX90, DX S2 series, DX S3 series, ETERNUS DX200F
Enable the following connections in setting up interface on the ETERNUS Disk storage system.
For specifying the IP address of ETERNUS DX60/DX60 S2/DX80/DX90:
Enable the telnet connection.
For specifying the IP address of ETERNUS DX S2 series (excluding DX60 S2), DX S3 series, ETERNUS DX200F:
Enable the ssh connection.
