This chapter provides information regarding the COBOL editor, which is used to edit COBOL source files. To start the COBOL editor, select the file to be edited in the Dependency or Structure view, and double-click the file or select "Open" from the context menu. An editing window is displayed when the COBOL editor is started, and the name of the file is displayed on the tab of the editing window. When the file has unsaved changes, an asterisk (*) is displayed after the file name.
