13.2.2 traptest (SNMP Trap Test for Server Node Agent)

NAME

traptest - tests of SNMP Trap

SYNOPSIS

traptest [ipaddr]

COMMAND PATH

Windows Environment
$INS_DIR\ESC\Agent\bin\traptest

($INS_DIR means "Program Directory" specified at the Storage Cruiser's agent installation.)

Solaris, Linux, HP-UX, or AIX Environment
/opt/FJSVssage/bin/traptest

DESCRIPTION

This command checks whether SNMP Trap is correctly transmitted to the Management Server from a server node agent, display an event, and check the linkage with Shell/Bat. The Centric Manager linkage is not operated by this command.

If the action on SNMP Trap as a test is supposed to be changed, change the SNMP Trap XML definition file (1_3_6_1_4_1_211_4_1_3_21_2_2.xml) for the agent. In SNMP Trap as a test, 1 is used for Specific Trap Type number and the action can be changed by changing the definition of the Specific Trap Type number 1 defined in the SNMP Trap XML definition file. Refer to "A.5 SNMP Trap XML Definition File" for the SNMP Trap XML definition file.

OPERANDS

ipaddr

Only in the environment where the host holds two or more IP addresses (including loopback IP address, IPv4/IPv6 dual stack), specify a server node's IP address (start IP address of the Storage Cruiser's agent) which the Storage Cruiser's manager recognizes.

When specifying IPv6 address, specify a global address.

As for IPv6 address display format, the Web Console displays IP addresses with reference to RFC5952. For this reason, they may be different from those specified by this command.

OPTIONS

None.
