8.1 Overview

The Reporting function creates a report containing information required for charging.

The overview of the Reporting function is as follows:

Item	Description
Common Control Repository	Database that stores device configuration information managed by ETERNUS SF system
Report Information	Required information for charging (configuration information related to volumes)
Information Stack File	File that accumulates report information
Policy File	Configuration file for activities of the Reporting function
Report File	File that has output report information
Accounting Application	Application to make an invoice from a report file (made by the center administrator)

1. Set Policy
   Set up a policy file for activities of the Reporting function.

2. Collect Report Information
   Use the report information collection command to store report information in the information stack file from the common control repository.

3. Create Report
   Use the report creation command to tally up report information in the information stack file based on the policy file and create a report file.
