A.1 Summary of Features

The following is a summary of the most commonly used Live Help features.

START AND STOP SUPPORT SESSIONS

Start the Live Help Expert application

Select the Live Help Expert shortcut from the Start menu or the Apps screen.

Start the Live Help Monitor application.

Select the Live Help Monitor shortcut from the Start menu or the Apps screen.

Create a session

Choose Create from the SESSION menu. (Not available in Live Help Monitor.)

Join a session as a Support Specialist

  • Choose Join from the SESSION menu. OR...

  • Click the Join button.

Leave a session but keep the Live Help Client application running on the Client's computer

Choose Leave from the SESSION menu.

Stop a session and close the Client

  • Choose Close Client from the SESSION menu. OR...

  • Click the Close Client button.

Exit Live Help

Choose Exit from the SESSION menu.


SEND

Send your Clipboard to the Client Clipboard

  • Choose Send Clipboard from the TOOLS menu. OR...

  • Click the Send Clipboard button.

Send the Client Clipboard to your Clipboard

  • Choose Receive Clipboard from the TOOLS menu. OR...

  • Click the Receive Clipboard button.

Send Files to the Client, or Receive Files from the Client's computer

  • Choose Client File Exchange from the TOOLS menu. OR...

  • Click the Client File Exchange button.

Send a Message

Choose Message Exchange from the TOOLS menu.

Send special Windows(R) keys during Remote Control

  • Choose Send Keys from the TOOLS menu. OR...

  • Click the Send Keys button.

Show your Screen to others

  • Choose Send Screen from the TOOLS menu. OR...

  • Click the Send Screens button.

Stop sending your Screen

  • Choose Send Screen from the TOOLS menu. OR...

  • Click the Send Screens button.


DISPLAY

View the Client's screen

  • Choose Receive Screen from the Tools menu. OR...

  • Click the Receive Screens button.

Enter "Full Screen" mode while watching the Client's Screen Transfers

  • Choose Full Screen from the VIEW menu. OR...

  • Click the Full Screen button.

If you are not using Remote Control:

  • Double-click the right mouse button within the Live Help window if you are not using Remote Control.

Return to "windowed" view from "Full Screen"

  • Choose Full Screen from the VIEW menu. OR...

  • Click the Full Screen button.

If you are not using Remote Control:

  • Double-click the right mouse button within the Live Help window if you are not using Remote Control.

Scale incoming Client Screen to fit inside the Live Help Expert or Live Help Monitor window

  • Choose Scale Screen from the VIEW menu. OR...

  • Click the Scale Screen button.

Acquire the latest Client screen

  • Choose Refresh from the VIEW menu.

Refresh is available only when you are connecting to a remote computer on which Live Help Client V11.0 or later is running. If the connected Client is version V10.0 or earlier, this feature is not available.


CHANGE CONFIGURATION

Approve Connections

Choose Security from the OPTIONS menu.

Name

Choose Name from the OPTIONS menu.

Warning Message Before Exit

Choose Security from the OPTIONS menu.

Modem support

Choose Communications Setup from the OPTIONS menu.

Network protocol

Choose Communications Setup from the OPTIONS menu.

Enable/disable member joining and leaving messages

Choose Security from the OPTIONS menu.

Restrict Access to a session based on IP address or host name

Choose Communications Setup from the OPTIONS menu.

Adjust performance settings

Choose Screen Transfer Method from the OPTIONS menu.

Toolbar display on/off

Choose Toolbar from the VIEW menu.

Toolbar help text on/off

Choose Toolbar Help from the VIEW menu.

Status bar display on/off

Choose Status Bar from the VIEW menu.
