3.6 Screen Transfers: Send or Receive Screens

The Receive Screens button is used to view the contents of the Client's screen. When the support session begins, the button is already pressed and you can see the Client's screen. It typically stays pressed during the entire support session. If other Help Desk Personnel are in the session, they also will see the Client's screen.

Want to show your screen to your client? Just click Send Screens button to start Screen Transfers. You may want to start Screen Transfers of your screen if you want to show training material for example. You can also select Receive Screen or Send Screen from the TOOLS menu.

Note

The Send Screen function is unique to the Live Help Expert application and is not available in Live Help Monitor.

Your screen doesn't change in any way, but the Client's does. A Live Help viewing window opens and the Client sees everything on your screen, watching while you move your mouse, start applications, or display a document. Screen changes are sent to the Client continuously, so it's just as if they are sitting right next to you. Any other Help Desk Personnel in the session also see your screen in their Live Help window.

You can easily switch between viewing the Client's screen and showing your screen to the Client. Just click the appropriate Screen Transfer button.

Note

Important:

If you are using Remote Control of the Client's computer, you must stop Remote Control before you send screens.
