This section explains the tasks required on the client for monitoring and operating the Systemwalker Operation Manager server installed on a different computer from the client.
To monitor and operate the Systemwalker Operation Manager server on a different computer, you must define the host name and IP address of the server to be connected in the "hosts" file on the client.
Refer to "Chapter 3 Installation" for information on how to install the client functions.
Define the hosts file
Use an editor such as Notepad to edit the "hosts" file in the <system root>\system32\drivers\etc directory on the computer where you installed the client.
Define the host name and IP address of the server in the "hosts" file and ensure that the host name can be resolved.
