Systemwalker Operation Manager  Cluster Setup Guide for UNIX
FUJITSU Software

3.1.1 Connecting to cluster system from clients

To use the following functions displayed in the Job Selection window of the Systemwalker Operation Manager window, the clients specify either the physical IP address or the logical IP address when connecting to the Systemwalker Operation Manager server running on a cluster system:

If the Master Schedule Management function is to be used, specify either the logical IP address for the cluster system or the host name corresponding to the logical IP address when connecting from either Master Schedule Management or Master Schedule Management Environment Setup.

If automatic reflection is to be applied to the cluster system with the calsetcluster command and any of the following functions are to be used, specify either the logical IP address of the cluster system or the host name corresponding to the logical IP address. If the cluster system is not subject to automatic reflection, specify the physical IP address of the respective machine.

When setting up an environment for Systemwalker Operation Manager, specify the physical IP address for the "server IP address" when the Systemwalker Operation Manager Environment Setup window starts up.

When using multi-server monitoring client, use the physical IP address to specify the server IP address at startup.

When using the Jobscheduler information print client, either the physical IP address or the logical IP address can be used to specify the server IP address at startup.

If failover occurs while the client is connected to the server, the connection to the server will be broken. Reconnect after the failover completes.
