Points to check
Was the compression source specified with a wildcard that evaluates to too many files?
Cause
The evaluation may result in too many files to be compressed at the same time.
When multiple files are compressed at the same time, the work area memory for compression is proportional to the number of files, and so is the heap area used. If there is insufficient heap area, the file cannot be compressed.
Action method
Reduce the number of files to be compressed at the same time, by executing the command multiple times. As a rough guide, it is recommended to compress only up to 500 files at the same time.
