Define the host name of the monitoring server correctly in the Define Monitoring Permission Host window of the selected host.

Action method

Ensure that the TCP/IP network environment of the selected host allows names to be resolved correctly.

Action method

If the IP addresses do not match, specify the primary IP address of the monitoring host in the monitoring permission host.

Information

In the same way as for Action 2, execute the ping command to check the IP address obtained by resolving the name. Execute the ping command on the monitored host, and check if the displayed IP address matches the primary IP address of the monitoring host.

Refer to the relevant operating system manual for information on the ping command.

Action 5

Points to check

Is "127.0.0.1" configured as the IP address for the name of the local host in /etc/hosts?

Action method

An example of /etc/hosts file settings is shown below.

127.0.0.1 <host name> localhost

[After]

127.0.0.1 localhost
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <host name>
