7.3 Using Multi-Server Monitoring

Job nets on multiple Systemwalker Operation Manager servers can be monitored as a batch. Multi-server monitoring can be performed from either a multi-server monitoring client or the Web console.

Multi-server monitoring clients can perform batch operations, and also use criteria to filter job nets on servers subject to monitoring.

To perform multi-server monitoring, determine the monitored objects server and other issues in advance.

Refer to "Monitoring Multiple Servers" in the Systemwalker Operation Manager User Guide for details on multi-server monitoring clients.

Items to be considered

Monitored servers

Determine which servers are to be monitored.

Up to 62 servers can be monitored.

Number of connected clients

If the startup parameters for the Jobscheduler limit the number of clients that can be connected, this limit also applies to multi-server monitoring. Determine whether the limit is valid.

When this limit is reached, monitoring cannot be performed by additional clients.

Filtering monitored job nets

Monitoring can also be performed by filtering only related job nets from all the job nets on multiple servers.

If necessary, determine the criteria for filtering which job nets are to be monitored.

Filtering messages in the status message list

The messages output to the status message list in the monitoring window can be filtered.

If necessary, determine the criteria for filtering which displayed messages are to be monitored.
