2.3.10 Configuring the PL/extJava Environment Settings

Note the following points when using the PL/extJava environment:

Location in which the PL/extJava resources are placed

Place the domain root and the resources of the PL/extJava backup data storage destination directory on a shared disk.

Environment setup

To use the pgx_jadmin command on the standby node, specify the -cluster-standbynode option.

Setup procedure

Use the following procedure to configure the PL/extJava environment:

1. Stop the cluster application on all nodes.

2. On the active node or the standby node, mount the file systems on which the domain root and the PL/extJava backup data storage destination directory have been placed, and all file systems on which the resources of the database cluster (such as the data storage destination directory), have been placed.

   Refer to "2.3.6 Mounting the File System" for details.

3. Configure the PL/extJava environment.

   Refer to "Setting up and Operating PL/extJava" in the Operation Guide for details.

4. Unmount all file systems that were mounted on the active node or the standby node.

   Refer to "2.3.11 Unmounting the File System" for details.

5. Restart the cluster application on all nodes.
