This section explains points to note before installing the product on linkage servers.
Conditions required for installing the product on a linkage server
[Windows]
Install a Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager agent on the linkage server (WSUS server).
[Linux]
It is not necessary to install a Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager agent on linkage servers (yum servers), unless you want to use the following function:
Patch management and collection of software information targeted at linkage servers (yum servers)
Checking the required software and settings
To collect patch management and software information on the linkage server, the following software and settings are required on the linkage server:
Register the linkage server with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
Refer to "3.9.1 Settings for Managing Windows Patches" for details.
Linux patch management
Set up the Yellowdog Updater Modified (yum) repository to be looked up
Refer to the yum manuals for information on the setup method.
Collecting patch management and software information for Fujitsu Middleware
Install the UpdateAdvisor (middleware)
Refer to the UpdateAdvisor (middleware) manuals for details.
Mandatory software for Linux
Install the following software distributed with the operating system (refer to the operating system manual before installing):
redhat-lsb packages
For Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (for Intel64), install the 32-bit versions of the software listed below, which is distributed with the operating system (refer to the operating system manual before installing):
expat package
glibc package
libattr package
libcap package
libgcc package
libstdc++ package
nss-softokn-freebl package
zlib package
The functions installed
The following functions are installed as a result of installing a Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager agent:
CMDB agent
SMEE, SecureCrypt library runtime
Systemwalker communication infrastructure
File transfer infrastructure
Coexistence with Systemwalker Operation Manager V13.4.0
Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager can only coexist with Systemwalker Operation Manager V13.4.0 in the following combinations:

To enable Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager to coexist with the 32-bit version of Systemwalker Operation Manager V13.4.0
To enable Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager to coexist with Systemwalker Operation Manager that has been installed using "Systemwalker Operation Manager Standard Edition Media Pack V13 (13.4)" or "Systemwalker Operation Manager Enterprise Edition Media Pack V13 (13.4)", install Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager using the following media pack:
Linkage server (32-bit)
To enable Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager to coexist with the 64-bit version of Systemwalker Operation Manager V13.4.0
To enable Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager to coexist with Systemwalker Operation Manager that has been installed using "Systemwalker Operation Manager Standard Edition Media Pack (64 bit) V13 (13.4)" or "Systemwalker Operation Manager Enterprise Edition Media Pack (64 bit) V13 (13.4)", install Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager using the following media pack:
Linkage server (64-bit)
Stopping Systemwalker products
Stop the following Systemwalker product before starting the installation:
Systemwalker Operation Manager V13.4.0
If an agent (communication infrastructure) is running, then stop it:
