FUJITSU Storage

7.1.1 Performance Information Types

The following information can be managed: Performance monitoring can be set at different intervals, refer to "7.2.3 Setting Monitoring Intervals" for the settings available for each device.
On the following tables, "A" indicates "Available", "N/A" indicates "Not Available".

Note

  • Do not simultaneously perform performance monitoring to a single device from multiple Management Server (administrative servers). The administrative server for Softek Storage Cruiser, the Management Server for ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser, and the administrative server for Systemwalker Resource Coordinator are to be used for the performance monitoring.

  • In order to prevent a discrepancy with the times shown on the performance graph due to a discrepancy in the internal clocks for the Management Server and the monitored device, it is recommended that you enable the NTP setting to the Management Server and the monitored device to synchronize the internal clocks.

  • It is possible to reference performance information for the ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser. However, there is some performance information which is not supported. Refer to the manual of Systemwalker Service Quality Coordinator for details.

  • If the monitored device has been restarted while performance monitoring was in progress, you may be unable to acquire accurate performance data immediately after the restarting of the device. It is recommended that you first halt performance monitoring before performing any tasks which entail restarting the monitored device.

  • Performance information about the ETERNUS Disk storage system main frame volume, MVV/SDV, and ODX Buffer Volume are not supported. The value for the performance information about the RAID Group containing SDV cannot be guaranteed. Performance information values for RAIDGroup, excluding Thin Provisioning and Flexible Tier, do not contain ODX Buffer Volume.

  • Performance monitoring cannot be done for the ETERNUS Disk storage system which do not have LogicalVolume (LUN).

  • The CA/CM Port performance information for the ETERNUS Disk storage system device displays the following information.

*1: Performance information during the execution of REC or ROPC is displayed as follows:

    • It is displayed as Read performance information, if the port is set on the Initiator.

    • It is displayed as Write performance information, if the port is set on the Target.

*2: Performance information during the execution of REC includes the following information.

    • Read performance information includes the performance information during the execution of REC, if the port is set on the Initiator.

    • Write performance information includes the performance information during the execution of REC, if the port is set on the Target.

  • Performance information for VE ports used by 10 GbE(XGE) ports is not supported, and the values in the displayed performance information are not guaranteed. It is recommended that 0 be set for the transfer rate for VE ports used by 10 GbE(XGE) ports, and that performance and threshold values should not be monitored. Refer to "A.9 Explanation of Configuration Settings File" for details on how to set this value.

  • The CPU and ROE usage rates are displayed for the CM load (CPU usage) for ETERNUS DX400/DX400 S2 series and DX8000/DX8000 S2 series. For other ETERNUS Disk storage systems, the ROE usage rate is not displayed. Also, for ETERNUS Disk storage systems that do not have a ROE, the parity generation processing for RAID5, RAID6 and RAID6-FR, and encryption processing that would otherwise be performed by the ROE are performed by the CM and the CM-CPU.

  • RDB performance information cannot be displayed in environments that use the REC Disk Buffered Consistency function.
