It is necessary to perform the following procedures about making a NAS interface.
NAS interface settings
IP address settings
The procedure to create a NAS interface is as follows:
On the global navigation tab, click Storage.
The registered ETERNUS Disk storage systems are displayed on the Main pane.
On the Main pane, click the target ETERNUS Disk storage system.
On the Category pane, click NAS Management.
The items of the Category pane change into the items concerning the NAS Management.
On the Category pane, click NAS Interface.
The NAS interface list is displayed on the Main pane.
On the Action pane, click Create under NAS Interface.
The NAS Interface Setting page is displayed.
Item Name | Explanation |
---|---|
IP Version | This is a version of IP address that the NAS interface uses. |
RIP Setting | This is an RIP function setting to select the access route set to the NAS interface automatically. |
VLAN ID | This is the selection of whether to set a VLAN ID to the NAS interface. Select "Set" in cases when allocating multiple NAS interfaces to one port. |
Port | This is an allocation port of the NAS interface. The following port cannot be selected:
|
Redundant Port | This is a redundant port for the allocation port of the NAS interface. When the allocation port is made redundant, the redundant configuration can be released by selecting "None". Select the master port in cases when specifying a bonding port to the redundant port. The following ports cannot be selected:
|
Set Member Port of Bonding Port | For the allocation port and the redundant port, set member ports to be bonded. It is possible to set a maximum of 15 member ports. When the bonding port has been set, it is possible to release the port bonding by deleting all of the member ports. When the allocation port is made redundant, it will not be possible to newly create or release bonding port. Set the bonding port after releasing the redundant configuration. The following ports cannot be selected:
|
Mode | This is the operating mode of the bonding port. When the balancing mode has been selected, specify Load Balancing item. |
Load Balancing | This is the load balancing method for when the balancing mode has been selected. |
Hash Policy | This is the method used to decide the port to be used. This is to be selected in cases when the operating mode is balancing (Exclusive OR) or IEEEE802.3ad. |
Information
As listed below, the ports which can be configured as the allocation port, redundant port, and member port differ depending on the configuration status of the target port.
Port Configuration Status | Explanation of Port Configuration Status | Availability of Configuration | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Port Bonding | Redundancy | Interface Settings | VLAN ID | Allocation Port | Redundant Port | Member Port | |
- | - | - | - | Non-configured port | A | A | A |
- | - | Y | No | Single port to which a NAS interface not having a VLAN ID has been allocated | A | A | N/A |
- | - | Y | Yes | Single port to which a NAS interface having a VLAN ID has been allocated | A | A | N/A |
- | - | Y | Mix | Single port to which a NAS interface having a VLAN ID and a NAS interface not having a VLAN ID have been allocated | A | A | N/A |
- | Y | - | - | Standby port to which a NAS interface has not been allocated | A | N/A | N/A |
- | Y | Y | No | Active port to which a NAS interface not having a VLAN ID has been allocated | A | A | N/A |
- | Y | Y | Yes | Active port to which a NAS interface having a VLAN ID has been allocated | A | A | N/A |
- | Y | Y | Mix | Active port to which a NAS interface having a VLAN ID and a NAS interface not having a VLAN ID have been allocated | A | A | N/A |
Me | - | - | - | Member port to which a NAS interface has not been allocated | N/A | N/A | A |
Ma | - | - | - | Master port to which a NAS interface has not been allocated | A | A | N/A |
Ma | - | Y | No | Master port to which a NAS interface not having a VLAN ID has been allocated | A | A | N/A |
Ma | - | Y | Yes | Master port to which a NAS interface having a VLAN ID has been allocated | A | A | N/A |
Ma | - | Y | Mix | Master port to which a NAS interface having a VLAN ID and a NAS interface not having a VLAN ID have been allocated | A | A | N/A |
Ma | Y | - | - | Master and standby port to which a NAS interface has not been allocated | A | A | N/A |
Ma | Y | Y | No | Master and active port to which a NAS interface not having a VLAN ID has been allocated | A | A | N/A |
Ma | Y | Y | Yes | Master and active port to which a NAS interface having a VLAN ID has been allocated | A | A | N/A |
Ma | Y | Y | Mix | Master and active port to which a NAS interface having a VLAN ID and a NAS interface not having a VLAN ID have been allocated | A | A | N/A |
*1: This will only be displayed in cases when "Set" has been selected for VLAN ID in the NAS Interface Setting page.
*2: Only the redundant port configured to the allocation port will be displayed.
*3: Only the member port configured to the allocation port will be displayed.
The meaning of the "Port Configuration Status" in the above table is as follows:
Port Bonding
Me: A status of being configured to the member port
Ma: A status of being configured to the master port
Redundancy
Y: A status of being made redundant
Interface Settings
Y: A status of having a NAS interface allocated
VLAN ID
No: A status of having a NAS interface not having a VLAN ID configured allocated
Yes: A status of having a NAS interface having a VLAN ID configured allocated
Mix: A status of having a NAS interface not having a VLAN ID configured and a NAS interface having a VLAN ID configured allocated
Point
For the Load Balancing and Hash Policy of the port bonding, the same configurations will be implemented to the allocation port and the redundant port.
Enter the necessary information, and then click Next.
The IP Address Setting screen is displayed.
