The procedure to register a tape library is as follows:
On the global navigation tab, click Storage.
On the Category pane, click Tape Library.
The registered tape libraries are displayed on the Main pane.
On the Action pane, click Discover under Tape Library.
The information input screen is displayed.
Enter an IP address and SNMP community name, and then click Discover.
Confirm the information, and then click Register.
Note
An IP address that has been already used in the tape library registered in the ETERNUS SF system cannot be specified.
The Web Console cannot set the SNMP Trap transmission place address for tape library. In the Web Console, the SNMP Trap setting checkbox is always grayed out. Therefore, it is necessary to set the SNMP Trap transmission place address on the tape library separately.
The registration processing of tape library may take from a few minutes to over 10 minutes depending on the device configuration. The Job Status pane allows you to confirm the completion of tape library registration processing. However, since the information in the Job Status pane is automatically deleted 24 hours after processing is completed, check deleted information in "11.1 Display Operation History". The tape library registration processing has completed when the displayed items of the Operation History screen is as follows:
Action: Register Tape Library
State: Complete
Result: Success
Target: IP address of the registered tape library
Please do not perform any operation for this tape library until the registration processing has been completed.
If the tape library is a dual stack device to which both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are configured, register either of the two addresses.
