The Advanced Copy function of the ETERNUS Disk storage system can link with VSS and the Hyper-V VSS writer to implement restoration of backed up Hyper-V Guest OSes.

If the Guest OS to be restored is currently operating, it will be stopped and deleted.
When restoration is completed, the Guest OS will be re-registered.
If the online backup data are stored on tape, restore the files directly from the tape to the transaction volume.
Note
The Guest OS cannot be restored to a location (file path) that is different from the original backup location.
Restoration is possible only to the originally backed up location.
