A silent installation is a method of loading the required information for installation from a pre-created install parameter file to install software automatically without requiring user interaction at the time of installation.
Take the following steps for silent installation:
Edit an install parameter file.
Run a silent installation.
Point
If Symfoware is installed, take the following procedure:
Stop the processes of Symfoware/RDB, WebDBtools and RDA-SV.
Install ETERNUS SF Manager (for Solaris).
Start the processes of Symfoware/RDB, WebDBtools and RDA-SV.
Note
Silent installation does not support the version upgrade installation function.
For version upgrade installation, refer to the ETERNUS SF Migration Guide of this version.
Perform the following procedure before installing:
Check whether the system is set to use shadow passwords. If not set to use shadow passwords, set it to use shadow passwords.
Register access users to repository databases to the operating system beforehand. For details, refer to "3.1.5 Registering the repository access user (for Solaris and Linux)".
If the value of the environment variable PATH exceeds 800 characters, change the value to 800 or less characters.
Add "/opt/FSUNrdb2b/lib" to the value of the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH_64.
At the time of installation, an installation destination directory cannot be changed.
After installing, do not rename, move or delete the installation destination directory.
During installation, the operating system user account (esfpostgres) is added.
Do not change or delete this account. It is required for ETERNUS SF operation.
