This section explains how to stop an L-Server.
Use the following procedure to stop an L-Server.
Right-click the target L-Server in the orchestration tree, and select [Power]-[OFF] from the popup menu.
The confirmation dialog is displayed.
Click <OK>.
The L-Server is stopped.
Use the following procedure to stop forcibly.
Right-click the target L-Server in the orchestration tree, and select [Power]-[OFF (Forced)] from the popup menu.
The confirmation dialog is displayed.
Click <OK>.
The L-Server is stopped forcibly.
Point
When the L-Server is registered as a VM host, the VM guests running on the VM host will also be turned off along with the L-Server.
The list of the VM guests which will be turned off is displayed in the dialog. However, if the VM guest is an L-Server which the logged in user does not have access permission on, the VM guest is not displayed in the list.
For L-Servers for which [Resource release] setting is configured, server resources are released.

From the command-line, execute rcxadm lserver stop.
For details on the rcxadm lserver stop command, refer to "3.6 rcxadm lserver" in the "Reference Guide (Command/XML) CE".
Note
If no OS is installed on the L-Server, the L-Server may not be stopped. In that case, perform a forced stop.
[OVM for x86 2.2]
Depending on the presence or absence of the VirtualizationMethod attribute and the PV (Paravirtualized) driver of VM guests, stopping operations may cause a forced stop, and a forced stopping operation may cause a stop.
[OVM for SPARC]
When the function is not supported by OVM for SPARC, stopping and rebooting of the L-Server cannot be performed.
Based on the virtual machine status, either directly operate the virtual machine, or perform a forced stop or forced reboot.
When L-Server is stopped, this product also executes unbinding of resouces.
This product carry out autosave of the configuration at the time of the stop of L-Server.
When you repeal the automatic save facility of the configuration in this product, please add a definition to the definition file which sets up the execution propriety of cofiguration preservation.
