Chapter 15 L-Server Template Operations

This section explains how to operate an L-Server template.

An L-Server template comprises pre-defined specifications (number of CPUs, memory capacity, disk capacity, number of NICs, etc.) for an L-Server. Use the following XML format.

There are two ways to create an L-Server template:

Use the UTF-8 character code for L-Server templates.

Note

When registering the L-Server template to be used on the L-Platform, note the following:

  • If using server virtualization software other than VMware, ensure that the VM type has been specified.

  • L-Server templates with extended disks cannot be used.

  • Physical L-Server templates that specify a model name cannot be used. Also, ensure that the number of CPUs, CPU performance, and memory size have been specified.

  • Specify only one NIC definition. Also, if less NICs are configured in the L-Platform server than in the L-Server template, the L-Platform will fail to deploy or servers will fail to be added.
