C.7.10 Managing Solaris Zones Configured on a Guest Domain of OVM for SPARC

In this product, the Solaris zones constructed on the guest domain of OVM for SPARC can be managed.

When the Solaris zones constructed on the guest domain of OVM for SPARC is managed, it is necessary to register the guest domain that constructs the Solaris zones as VM host. The introduction procedure to this product is as follows.

  1. Installation of software on control domain of OVM for SPARC

    The software and the agent of this product is installed in the control domain of OVM for SPARC.

    Please refer to the following.

  2. Server registration of OVM for SPARC

    The server of OVM for SPARC is registered.

    Refer to "5.9 When Using Fujitsu M10/SPARC Enterprise" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".

  3. Construction of global zone on guest domain of OVM for SPARC

    Refer to Oracle manuals.

  4. Installation of software on guest domain of OVM for SPARC

    The software and the agent of this product is installed in the guest domain of OVM for SPARC.

    Please refer to the following.

  5. Registration of resource of guest domain

    When the guest domain is registered as VM host, non-global zone made on the guest domain is displayed as VM guest.

    After it is confirmed that OS of the guest domain starts, it registers as VM host.

    Refer to "5.9.3 Registering Guest Domain on Oracle VM for SPARC" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".

  6. Registration of resource to resource pool

    The guest domain of OVM for SPARC is registered in the VM pool.

    Refer to "14.1 VM Host Resources" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".

  7. Registration of network resource

    The network resource is registered in the network pool.

    Refer to "14.3 Network Resources" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".

  8. Registration of strage resource

    The storage resource is registered in the storage pool.
    Refer to "14.5 Storage Resources" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".

  9. Linking L-Server

    It can be managed that it is non-global zone on the guest domain of OVM for SPARC and non-global zone on the guest domain of constructed OVM for SPARC L-Server is linked as virtual L-Server, and take it into L-Platform.

    Refer to "7.2.3 Importing to L-Platform" in the "Operation Guide CE".

There are notes in the operation with this product when the guest domain of OVM for SPARC is registered as VM host.
