2.3.5 Installation [Solaris] [Solaris Zones]

Install agents (Cloud Edition Dashboard Function) using the following procedure.

Before installing Resource Orchestrator, check that the preparations given in "2.3.1 Preparations" have been performed.

Install the agent (Cloud Edition Dashboard Function) on a physical L-Server or the Oracle Solaris Zones (global zone).

It does not need to be installed in the Oracle Solaris Zones (non global zone).
Note that installation is not required in Oracle Solaris zones (global zones) on the Oracle VM guest.

  1. Log in to the system as the OS administrator (root).

    Boot the managed server that agent (Cloud Edition Dashboard Function) is to be installed on in multi-user mode, and then log in to the system using root.

  2. Set the Resource Orchestrator DVD-ROM.

  3. Launch the installation command (RcSetup.sh).

    # cd DVD-ROM_mount_point <RETURN>
    # ./RcSetup.sh <RETURN>
  4. Perform installation according to the installer's interactive instructions.

    Click "Agent(Cloud Edition for Dashboard) installation" which is displayed on the window.

  5. Specify the IP address of a connected admin server for Admin Server IP Address.

  6. Specify the admin LAN IP address of the managed server for Managed Server IP Address.

  7. When installation is completed successfully, the following message will be displayed:

    INFO: ServerView Resource Orchestrator Agent (Cloud Edition for Dashboard) was installed successfully.

    [Solaris Zones]

    For Oracle Solaris zones, use the following procedure to add settings after installation:

  8. Backup the following files.

    • /etc/opt/FJSVssqc/template.dat

    • /etc/opt/FJSVssqc/collectusage.template

  9. Modify the template.dat file.
    Open the following file:
    /etc/opt/FJSVssqc/template.dat

  10. Add NET2 to the corresponding sections listed below:

     [ATTR::OS]
      GROUP="SAR,DF,NET,IOSTAT,VMSTAT,MPSTAT"

    An example is shown below - italics indicate information added:

     [ATTR::OS]
      GROUP="SAR,DF,NET,NET2,IOSTAT,VMSTAT,MPSTAT"
  11. Modify the collectusage.template file.
    Open the following file:
    /etc/opt/FJSVssqc/collectusage.template

  12. Add NET2 to the corresponding sections listed below:

    [ATTR::OS]
      GROUP="SAR,DF,NET,IOSTAT,VMSTAT,MPSTAT"

    An example is shown below - italics indicate information added:

  13. Execute the following commands to reflect the settings:

    # /opt/FJSVssqc/bin/sqcRPolicy.sh
    # /opt/FJSVssqc/bin/sqcSetPolicy.sh
