Using the Web Console, it is necessary to register ETERNUS Disk storage system to be used.
The following procedure is required to register the target ETERNUS Disk storage system. This procedure should be performed by the system administrator.
Execute the following preparations for each ETERNUS Disk storage system to be registered.
Using the ETERNUS Web GUI, perform the following settings. Refer to the ETERNUS Web GUI manual for information on each setting.
Check the IP address of the Management Server.
If there is a Management Server on a subnet different from the subnet for which ETERNUS Disk storage system is set up, check that the IP address of the Management Server is registered to the "Allowed IP List" in the [Set Network Environment] screen on the ETERNUS Web GUI.
If it is not registered to the list, register the IP address of the Management Server to the "Allowed IP List".
Enable the SNMP function of MNT port on the [Setup SNMP Agent (Basic Interface)] screen.
Check the ETERNUS Disk storage system name displayed in the Name column on the [Modify Storage System Name] screen.
When using Advanced Copy functions, specify 16 or less alphanumeric characters for ETERNUS Disk storage system name.
If you connect iSCSI, specify "Enable" the use of iSNS server in the target port.
For ETERNUS DX80 S2/DX90 S2, additionally perform the following settings:
On the [Create SSH Server Key] screen of the ETERNUS Web GUI, create a new SSH server key. The number of bits for the key is at your discretion.
On the [Setup User Account] screen of the ETERNUS Web GUI, create a Software Role Account.
In later procedures, specify the account information you created here.
If an SNMP community name is not already set in the ETERNUS Disk storage system, set an SNMP community name on the [Setup SNMP Community] screen of the ETERNUS Web GUI.
Launch the Web Console, and then register the target ETERNUS Disk storage system.
