The following preparation work must be done before starting the installation of AdvancedCopy Manager's agent.
Make sure that there is enough available disk space on the server where the installation will be performed.
For information on the disk space required for installation, refer to "2.4.3.1 Required disk space for installation".
If there is not enough available disk space, perform either of the following actions in order to secure the disk space required for installation:
Increase disks
Reconfigure the disk partitions
Check if SystemWalker/StorageMGR, AdvancedCopy Manager at older version or any incompatible software is installed on the server where the installation will be performed.
If found, refer to the following manual and uninstall it before starting the installation.
About the incompatible software for AdvancedCopy Manager's agent, refer to "2.4.2.3 Incompatible software".

Check the installation progress for SystemWalker/StorageMGR or previous version AdvancedCopy Manager using the following method:
For Windows environment
From the Control Panel, open the following screen to check whether components of SystemWalker/StorageMGR or older version AdvancedCopy Manager are displayed.

If any component is displayed, perform the actions described below.
If the component of SystemWalker/StorageMGR is displayed:
SystemWalker/StorageMGR is installed. Referring to the displayed result, confirm the version and types of M/A and SE/EE.
If the component of AdvancedCopy Manager is displayed:
An older version of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed. Confirm the version.
For Solaris environment
Execute the following command:
# pkginfo -l FJSVswsts |
If the package information is displayed, SystemWalker/StorageMGR or an older version of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed.
If the package information displays "SystemWalker/StorageMGR":
SystemWalker/StorageMGR is installed. Referring to the displayed result, confirm the version and types of M/A and SE/EE.
If the package information displays "AdvancedCopy Manager":
An older version of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed. Confirm the version.
The type of installed component (manager or agent) can be checked by executing the following command:
# pkginfo -l FJSVswssc |
If the package information is output, the component of AdvancedCopy Manager's manager is installed. If no information is output, the component of AdvancedCopy Manager's agent is installed
For Linux environment
Execute the following command:
# rpm -qi FJSVswsts |
If "AdvancedCopy Manager" is displayed in the command result, an older version of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed. Confirm the version.
The type of installed component (manager or agent) can be checked by the following command:
# rpm -qi FJSVswssc |
If the package information is output, the component of AdvancedCopy Manager's manager is installed. If no information is output, the component of AdvancedCopy Manager's agent is installed
For HP-UX environment
Check whether any of the following files are on the server:
/opt/swstorage/etc/swstg.ini
/etc/opt/swstorage/swstg.ini
If any of the above files are on the server, SystemWalker/StorageMGR or an older version of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed.
If "SystemWalker/StorageMGR" is described in /opt/swstorage/setup/stg/swsetup.ini file, SystemWalker/StorageMGR is installed. Referring to the file, confirm the version and types of SE/EE.
If "AdvancedCopy Manager" is described in /opt/swstorage/setup/stg/swsetup.ini file, an older version of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed. Confirm the version.
For AIX environment
Check whether any of the following files are on the server:
/opt/swstorage/etc/swstg.ini
/etc/opt/swstorage/swstg.ini
If any of the above files are on the server, an older version of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed.
If "AdvancedCopy Manager" is described in /opt/swstorage/setup/stg/swsetup.ini file, an older version of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed. Confirm the version.
