5.1.3 Installation procedure of Storage Cruiser's agent (for Solaris)

The installation procedure of Storage Cruiser's agent (for Solaris) is performed as follows:

Point

For installation in the single-user mode:

Check that the local file system is already mounted before the installation. If it is not mounted yet, mount the local file system.

# /usr/sbin/mountall -l
  1. Login to the server on which to install Storage Cruiser's agent. Perform the operation with "root (super user)" after login.

  2. Insert the DVD-ROM "ETERNUS SF SC/ACM/Express Mediapack (Agent Program and Manual)" for this version into the DVD-ROM drive and mount the DVD-ROM.

    In below example of command execution, the device name of the DVD-ROM drive is mounted as /dev/dsk/c0t4d0s0. The device name for the DVD-ROM drive, however, may be different for your particular device.

    # mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t4d0s0 <DVD-ROM mount point>
  3. Execute the following command:

    # cd <DVD-ROM mount point>/Agent_unix/Storage_Cruiser/agent/Solaris
    # ./scagtinstall.sh
  4. The following message is output. To execute the installation, enter 'y'. To discontinue the installation, enter any key except 'y'.

  5. If 'y' was entered in step 4, specify the program install directory for the following question.

    Please enter install directory. (default: /opt) [?,q]
    
    Please enter variable configuration directory. (default: /var/opt) [?,q]
    
    Please enter fixed configuration directory. (default: /etc/opt) [?,q]

    The directory names in above message have the following meanings:

    Directory name

    Meaning

    install directory

    This is the directory to which the package will be installed.
    The default directory is /opt.

    variable configuration directory

    This is the directory to which the variable files (log files, temporary files, etc.) will be installed.
    The default directory is /var/opt.

    fixed configuration directory

    This is the directory to which the files for the environment settings will be installed.
    The default directory is /etc/opt.

  6. After all the directories are specified, the following message is output. To continue the installation, enter 'y'. To discontinue the installation, enter 'n'.

    Using </opt> as the package base directory.
    ## Processing package information.
    ## Processing system information.
    ## Verifying disk space requirements.
    ## Checking for conflicts with packages already installed.
    ## Checking for setuid/setgid programs.
    
    This package contains scripts which will be executed with super-user
    permission during the process of installing this package.
    
    Do you want to continue with the installation of <FJSVssage> [y,n,?]
  7. If 'y' was entered in step 6, the installation will continue.

    When installation is completed normally, the following message will be displayed.

    Installing Storage System Agent for ETERNUS SF as <FJSVssage>
    ...
    Installation of <FJSVssage> was successful.
    INFO  : "ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser" Agent was installed successfully.

    If there is any error during installation, the following message will be displayed.

    ERROR : not privileged
    or
    ERROR : "ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser" Agent cannot be installed in non-global zone.
    or
    ERROR : Installing FJSVssage was failed.

The installation of Storage Cruiser's agent (for Solaris) is completed.

Set up Storage Cruiser's agent, refer to "6.1 Setup of Storage Cruiser's agent".
