5.2 Certificate import

Follow the procedure below to import the certificate.

Note

Please use the same IP address or host name (FQDN) for the URL entered in the web browser as the one used in the generated certificate. For example, if the URL is different from the certificate, the certificate warning messages will be displayed.

  • The certificate was created with a host name (FDQN) and the URL is entered with the IP address.

  • The Management Server has several IP addresses, and the IP address used in the URL is different from the one used for the certificate creation.


For Internet Explorer:

  1. In the web browser address bar, enter the IP address or host name (FQDN) specified in the Common Name at the certificate creation.
    If the Management Server is the same as the server for the web browser (client), enter the "localhost".

    Example

    • In the case of entering IP address (192.168.1.1):

      https://192.168.1.1:9855/
    • In the case of entering "localhost":

      https://localhost:9855/
  2. A dialog showing the "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." message is displayed. Click the "Continue to this website (not recommended).".

  3. Click the "Certificate Error" in the address bar.

  4. Click on [View certificates] at the bottom of the dialog.

  5. On the [Certificates] dialog, click the [Install Certificate] button.

  6. The Certificate Import Wizard is displayed. Click the [Next] button on the Certificate Import Wizard.

  7. The [Certificate Store] dialog is displayed. Select [Place all certificates in the following store], and click the [Browse] button.

  8. The [Select Certificate Store] dialog is displayed. Select [Trusted Root Certification Authorities] and click the [OK] button.

  9. The [Certificate Store] dialog is displayed again. Check that [Trusted Root Certification Authorities] appears in the Certificate store:, and click the [Next] button.

  10. The [Completing the Certificate Import Wizard] dialog is displayed. Check that [Trusted Root Certification Authorities] has been set, and click the [Finish] button.

  11. On the [Security Warning] dialog, click the [Yes] button.

  12. Restart the web browser, and enter the URL of the Management Server.


For Firefox:

  1. In the web browser address bar, enter the IP address or host name (FQDN) specified in the Common Name at the certificate creation.
    If the Management Server is the same as the server for the web browser (client), enter the "localhost".

    Example

    • In the case of entering IP address (192.168.1.1):

      https://192.168.1.1:9855/
    • In the case of entering "localhost":

      https://localhost:9855/
  2. The [This Connection is Untrusted] dialog is displayed. Click the [I Understand the Risks], then click the [Add Exception] button.

  3. The [Add Security Exception] window id displayed. Check that the [Permanently store this exception] has been checked on, then click [Confirm Security Exception] button.
