4.12.1 Create the Thin Provisioning Pool

The procedure to create Thin Provisioning Pool within ETERNUS Disk storage system is as follows:

1. On the global navigation tab, click [Storage].
   The registered ETERNUS Disk storage systems are displayed on the Main pane.

2. On the Main pane, click the target ETERNUS Disk storage system.

3. On the Category pane, click [Thin Provisioning].

4. On the Action pane, click [Create] under [Thin Provisioning Pool].
   The information input screen is displayed. (Specify Pool Information)

5. Enter the necessary information, and click the [Next] button at the lower right.
   The information input screen is displayed. (Specify Disks to create RAID Groups)

6. Enter the necessary information, and click the [Next] button at the lower right.
   The information confirmation screen is displayed.

7. Confirm the information, and click the [Create] button at the lower right.

Note

If you use the Self Encryption Drive (SED) for a disk in a Thin Provisioning Pool, specify "No" for Encryption of the pool.
