There are two ways to register ETERNUS Disk storage system.
Using "sanma.conf" file.
Searching subnet or IP address, and enter the necessary information.
The procedure to register an ETERNUS Disk storage system is as follows:
On the global navigation tab, click [Storage].
The current registered ETERNUS Disk storage systems are displayed on the Main pane.
On the Action pane, click [Discover] under [Disk Array].
The information input screen is displayed.
Add an ETERNUS Disk storage system.
Check the [Use existing settings from file: sanma.conf] checkbox.
Click the [Discover] button at the lower right.
Click the [Search on Subnet] radio button.
Enter the [Subnet Address].
Click the [Discover] button at the lower right.
Click the [IP Address] radio button.
Enter the [IP Address].
Enter the [SNMP Community Name].
Click the [Discover] button at the lower right.
Check the target ETERNUS Disk storage system checkbox.
Enter the user name and password of the checked ETERNUS Disk storage system.
Check the [SNMP Trap Setting] checkbox as needed basis.
Note
Please do not check the [SNMP Trap Setting] checkbox if the target ETERNUS Disk storage system is managed by the Management Server that operates AdvancedCopy Manager's manager only.
Click the [Register] button at the lower right.
Note
In the case of "Searching subnet", both the specified subnet and the Management Server subnet are searched.
When using "Searching subnet", "public" will be used for SNMP Community Name. If SNMP Community Name other than "public" need to be specified, use "sanma.conf" instead. How to customize sanma.conf is described at "6.5.1 Customizing sanma.conf".
The registration processing of ETERNUS Disk storage system may take from a few minutes to over 10 minutes depending on the device configuration. The Job Status pane allows you to confirm the completion of ETERNUS Disk storage system registration processing. However, since the information in the Job Status pane is automatically deleted 24 hours after processing is completed, check deleted information in "4.21.1 Display the operation history". The ETERNUS Disk storage system registration processing has completed when the displayed items of the Operation History screen is as follows:
Action : Register Disk Array
State : Complete
Result : Success
Target : IP address of the registered ETERNUS Disk storage system
Please do not perform any operation for this ETERNUS Disk storage system until the registration processing has been completed.
