2.3.1 Settings for Managing Windows Patches

To manage Windows patches, business servers must be registered as the computers managed by WSUS.

There are the following two methods for registering business servers as the computers managed by WSUS, as published by Microsoft. Refer to the information published by Microsoft for details.

Information

Systemwalker Software Configuration Manager provides a connection destination repository server registration command (swcfmg_register_repsv) in order to simplify the task of registering business servers as the computers managed by WSUS. Refer to the Reference Guide for information on the connection destination repository server registration command.

Note the following points when using the connection destination repository server registration command.

When creating a new business server

When a new business server is deployed using ServerView Resource Orchestrator, use the software parameter settings function to execute the connection destination repository server registration command.

Refer to the Operator's Guide - Software Parameter Settings for information on the software parameter settings function.

Registering an existing business server as the computer managed by WSUS

Either the tenant administrator or a tenant user should obtain the connection destination repository server registration command from the infrastructure administrator, and then execute the command by copying it to an arbitrary directory on the business server.
