This chapter explains how to create the definition files necessary to use Resource Orchestrator.
Configuration of Definition Files
To use the functions of Resource Orchestrator, it is necessary to create definition files in advance.
Note
If you edit and save a UTF-8 text file using Windows Notepad, the Byte Order Mark (BOM) is stored in the first three bytes of the file, and the information specified on the first line of the file will not be analyzed correctly. When using Notepad, specify the information from the second line.
Location of the Definition File
Definition files are created in the following location.
[Windows Manager]
Installation_folder\SVROR\Manager\etc\customize_data
[Linux Manager]
/etc/opt/FJSVrcvmr/customize_data
Definition File Required for Creating a Physical L-Server
When creating a physical L-Server, it is necessary to create a definition file combining ports of SAN storage first.
For details, refer to "B.1.1 Creating Definition Files Combining Ports of SAN Storage".
For a list of the other definition files that are necessary when creating a physical L-Server, refer to "Table 8.1 List of Functions Requiring a Definition File (For Both Physical L-Servers and Virtual L-Servers)" and "Table 8.2 List of Functions Requiring a Definition File (For Physical L-Servers)".
Definition File Required for Creating a Virtual L-Server
For the definition files necessary when creating a virtual L-Server, refer to "Table 8.1 List of Functions Requiring a Definition File (For Both Physical L-Servers and Virtual L-Servers)" and "Table 8.3 List of Functions Requiring a Definition File (For Virtual L-Servers))".
Definition File Required for Network Auto-Configuration
For a list of the definition files necessary for network auto-configuration, refer to "Table 8.10 List of Functions Requiring a Definition File (Network)".
The network devices that are the target of auto-configuration are the network devices registered in Resource Orchestrator.
For details on how to register resources for network devices, refer to "5.7 Registering Network Devices" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
