3.1.3 Symfoware confirmation

Symfoware components are bundled with ETERNUS SF Manager.
This section explains items to be checked when installing ETERNUS SF Manager on a server that already has Symfoware installed. If Symfoware is not yet installed, this task is not necessary.

For Windows environment

Check that the installed Symfoware Server is the following version level.

For Windows Server 2003

Symfoware Server Enterprise Edition V9.0 - V11.x

For Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Symfoware Server Enterprise Edition V9.1.1 - V11.x

Symfoware Server and Symfoware Server Client are used with ETERNUS SF Manager. Confirm the configuration of the installed Symfoware even if you use any of Symfoware Servers described above.

• When both Symfoware Server and Symfoware Server Client are installed:

  There is no problem. They can be used simultaneously.

• When only Symfoware Server is installed:

  Check if the installed Symfoware Server is "Symfoware Server Enterprise Edition V10.1".

  When ETERNUS SF Manager is installed, Symfoware Server Client will also be installed.

  For any version level except "Symfoware Server Enterprise Edition V10.1", perform either of the following tasks.

  • For using the installed Symfoware Server continuously:

    Install the same version of Symfoware Server Client as the installed Symfoware Server.

    When the version level of Symfoware Server is Symfoware Server Enterprise Edition V9.1.1, you can install Symfoware Server Client using the following procedure:

    1. Insert the DVD-ROM "ETERNUS SF SC/ACM/Express Mediapack for Windows (Manager Program)" for this version level into the DVD-ROM drive.

    2. Execute <DVD-ROM drive>:\Manager_windows\ACM\symfo\cl0911\setup.exe to start the installer.

  • For using the Symfoware Server bundled with ETERNUS SF Manager:

    Save any necessary data, and remove the installed Symfoware Server. After installing ETERNUS SF Manager, restore the saved data.

• When only Symfoware Server Client is installed:

  Uninstall the installed Symfoware Server Client.

For Solaris environment

Check that the installed Symfoware Server is the following version level.
For any version level other than listed below, uninstall that Symfoware Server and install one that is listed.

Note

It cannot be operated in the environment where Symfoware Server is introduced with standard security operations selected.

For Linux environment

Check that the installed Symfoware Server is the following version level.
For any version level other than listed below, uninstall that Symfoware Server and install one that is listed.
