C.6.1 Setup Example for Creating a Highly Reliable Network of Guest OSes

This section describes a configuration setup example for the following network configuration.

Setting up VMware host

Set up each adapter of guest OSes (NIC1 and NIC2) so that they are connected to ports of different virtual switches.

Moreover, set [Accept] for each virtual switch through [Security]-[Policy Exceptions]-[Promiscuous Mode].

Setting up the guest OS1 and the guest OS2

Setting up GLS is the same as for physical servers. See "A.1.1 Configuration with a Single Virtual Adapter" or "A.1.2 Configuration with Two Virtual Adapters."

If you use GLS on a guest OS in VMware, you must restart the guest OS after completing the GLS setup.
