This software supports fault management for the Brocade VDX series.

  1. Connecting to the Network

    Make the required settings for the Brocade VDX series which you use to connect to a network, and then connect to the network.
    For details on the setting method, refer to the manuals provided with the respective devices.

  2. SNMP Trap Settings

    If the Management Server is defined as a cluster, the logical IP address of the cluster needs to be set.

    switch# configure terminal
    switch(config)# snmp-server host [SNMP Trap send destination address] public version 1 udp-port 162 severity-level Warning
    switch(config)# exit

    For details on the setting method, refer to the manuals provided with the respective devices.

  3. Registering the Device

    Refer to "5.2.6 Registering a Manually Embedded Device" and "Register the storage device" in the "ETERNUS SF Web Console Guide", to register the virtual tape appliance device.
    For the registration, set the following for the device:

    • Enter "Brocade" in the manufacture name

Note

  • Use SNMP protocol version 1 for SNMP Trap received from Brocade VDX series.
