The following two installation methods of ETERNUS SF Manager for Solaris are available:
Default install
Install ETERNUS SF Manager by using the default values described in "D.2 Install parameters (for ETERNUS SF Manager)".
Custom install
Install ETERNUS SF Manager by using the modified default vallues of the installation information (port number for the communications service, character code, and so on).
Define the installation information to the install parameter file. Specify the install parameter file to which the installation information has been defined when executing the install shell.
For details on the install parameter file, refer to "D.1 Install parameter file (for ETERNUS SF Manager)".

The installation procedure of ETERNUS SF Manager for Solaris is performed as follows:
Note
Perform the following operation before installing ETERNUS SF Manager.
Check and make sure that the system is set to use a shadow password.
Register the user who performs the database access for repository to the operation system.
Refer to "3.1.5 Registering the repository access user (for Solaris and Linux)" for details.
You cannot change the install directory during the installation.
Do not rename, change, and delete the install directory after the installation.
Log in as "root (superuser)" on the server on which to install ETERNUS SF Manager.
Make sure that the local file system is mounted.
If the local file system is not mounted, execute the following command to mount the local file system:
# /usr/sbin/mountall -l
Insert the DVD-ROM "ETERNUS SF SC/ACM V15.0B Mediapack for Solaris (Manager Program)" to the DVD-ROM drive.
Mount the DVD-ROM.
In the following command execution example, the device name of DVD-ROM is /dev/dsk/c0t4d0s0. Name of DVD-ROM drive is depending on the device.
# mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t4d0s0 <DVD-ROM mount point>
Change directory in which the install shell is stored.
# cd <DVD-ROM mount point>/Manager_unix
Execute the install shell.
For default install
# ./esfinstall.sh
For custom install
Specify the absolute path name of the install parameter file edited in advance for <Install parameter file>.
# ./esfinstall.sh -s <Install parameter file>
Installation information is displayed. Display example is mentioned below.
To continue installation, enter "y". To stop the installation, enter "q".

After installation is completed successfully, the following message is displayed.

If an error occurs during installation, the following message is displayed and no software that configures ETERNUS SF Manager are installed.
When port numbers are overlapping.
ERROR: The specified port number is duplicate with following service.: foo 9855/tcp ERROR: Installation has failed. |
Way of handling: Set the install parameter file not to overlap the port number and perform the custom install (Refer to step 7).
When FJSVccm, for example, is already installed.
ERROR: The following product has been already installed on this system.: ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module ERROR: Installation has failed. |
Way of handling: Uninstall the installed software (In this case, FJSVccm).
Change directory into other than DVD-ROM. The example is shown below.
# cd |
Unmount the DVD-ROM.
# umount <DVD-ROM mount point> |
Eject the DVD-ROM from the DVD-ROM drive.
Installation for ETERNUS SF Manager (for Solaris) is completed.
Point
Even after the database is created, keep using a shadow password and continue the operation.
If an IP address for Management Server is not specified in the install parameter file, the IP address for Management Server is set automatically during the installation. After the installation is completed, change the IP address if required. For the information on how to change an IP address, refer to "Changing the IP address of Management Server" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide (for Solaris)".
The user information registered in "3.1.5 Registering the repository access user (for Solaris and Linux)" is set automatically as the user who performs the database access for repository. After the installation is completed, change the user information if required. For the information on how to change the user information, refer to "Change of password or deletion of the user who was specified as the repository access user" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide (for Solaris)".
