PRIMECLUSTER Global File Services Configuration and Administration Guide 4.3

4.1 Mount and unmount opportunity of the file system at the time of system starting and ending

In the GFS Shared File System, a setup for mounting and unmounting automatically at the time of system starting and ending differs from that of ext2, ext3, etc.

The mount options field of /etc/fstab must contain noauto in the GFS Shared File System. A setup of the automatic mount at system startup is specified by describing or omitting noatrc in the mount options field of /etc/fstab.

When noatrc is not described in the mount options field of /etc/fstab, the automatic mounting is performed on startup. The mounting takes places at the moment of running S57sfcfsrm start, the startup script in run levels 2, 3 and 5.

When noatrc is described in the mount options field of /etc/fstab, the automatic mounting is not performed on system startup.

GFS Shared File Systems are automatically unmounted when the system is shut down. They are unmounted through the stop script K36sfcfsrm.

Note

It is necessary to set the management partition and the GDS volumes where partitions of the GFS Shared File System that will automatically be mounted are allocated to automatically become ACTIVE during system startup.
