Here, it explains the point that should be noted when the following operating it.
Start and the stop of the node
Start and stop of Cluster Foundation (CF) by Cluster Admin View (GUI)
Please note the following points when you start the node.
The node which is not the MDS node should be started simultaneously with one or more MDS nodes. Or it should be started after one or more MDS nodes are started.
After all nodes in the cluster are stopped, each restarting node will be suspended until all nodes join the cluster again. In this case, start the remaining nodes or cancel the suspension (see "C.3.4 Corrective action when the sfcfrmd daemon is not started").
Please note the following points when you stop the node.
Before stopping a node, please stop all the applications on a node accessing GFS Shared File System.
Do not stop all nodes that operate MDS when the GFS Shared File System is mounted on the node which is not the MDS node. If all nodes that operate MDS are stopped, the GFS Shared File System is blockaded on the node which is not the MDS node.
If you stop plural nodes including the node that operates the primary MDS, stop the node that operates the primary MDS at the end. Otherwise, it might take time to stop the nodes.
Information
If the GFS Shared File System is unmounted by sfcumntgl(8) on all nodes before the node is stopped when all shared nodes of the GFS Shared File System are stopped, the order of stopping the node need not be considered.
Please note the following points when you start CF by GUI.
The CF on the node which is not the MDS node should be started after the CF on the one or more MDS nodes are started. Otherwise, it fails in the mount of the GFS Shared File System.
If you want to start up CF by GUI after stopping CF on all the nodes, see "12.6 How to start up CF from GUI when a GFS Shared File System is used".
In degenerated operation in which a part of cluster nodes is stopped, CF cannot be started by GUI. In this case, reboot the node.
The following message will be output when the node is rebooted.
WARNING: sfcfsrm:5001: Starting the sfcfrmd daemon was suspended because quorum does not exist |
See "C.3.4 Corrective action when the sfcfrmd daemon is not started" to take corrective action.
Please note the following points when you stop CF by GUI.
Do not stop CF on all nodes that operate MDS when the GFS Shared File System is mounted on the node which is not the MDS node. If CF on all nodes that operate MDS are stopped, the GFS Shared File System is blockaded on the node which is not the MDS node.
If you want to stop CF on the plural nodes including the node that operates the primary MDS, stop CF on the node that operates the primary MDS at the end.
Information
If the GFS Shared File System is unmounted by sfcumntgl(8) on all nodes before CF is stopped when all CF of a shared node of the GFS Shared File System is stopped, the order of stopping CF need not be considered.
