F.1 Cluster System Operation Mode
This section explains the cluster system operation mode available for the XL-DATA/MV.
- The XL-DATA/MV can be operated on the "1:1 standby" cluster system.
[Operation image in "1:1 standby" operation mode]
[Failover image in "1:1 standby" operation mode]
- The XL-Datamover daemon(server system), service(server system), or transfer command(client system) can be operated on the cluster system.
- Please do not execute the XL-DATA/MV(daemon or service) at the same time on both nodes.
- Please do not operate the XL-DATA/MV with the cluster systems operation mode other than "1:1 standby" operation mode.
- When starting failover (switching to the other node) during data transfer, the data transfer process will result in timeout error 6 minutes after starting failover.
- Recommend a multiprocessing level of 8 or less for a data transfer volume in this operation mode.
- The status of the partition in use when starting failover, will be still "in use".
The partition will not be available immediately just after activating the other node(NODE-2).
In data transfer process at a multiprocessing level of 9 - 16, all partitions could be in use when starting failover.
In this case, there is not any available partition even if the XL-DATA/MV is active.
Therefore, waiting for the partition to be released is needed.
In addition, when the XL-DATA/MV daemon( or service) receives request of data transfer in case of no available partitions, a process of releasing the partitions will start.
However, it will take 18 minutes after starting failover.
