Chapter 4 : UNIX/IA Server Data Transfers | > 4.3 Notes |
The time-out monitor time for data transfer is 6 minutes.
This is the maximum monitor time allotted when, for some reason (e.g., transfer command cancellation, system shutdown, etc.), the XL-DATA/MV of the client system and of the server system fail to notify each other of the process results using the data transfer volume.
When data transfer is performed under the following system (server system or client system) environment,
the data transfer process may become a time-out.
The transfer time of data transfer process is delayed according to the high loading state of volume or system. Therefore, transfer time exceeds time-out monitor time.
Please use XL-DATA/MV in consideration of system environment.
As the volume load on the UNIX/IA server increases, the input and output time of the volume can slow down significantly. Therefore, the data transfer process can timeout if the source file or target file for data transfer still exists on the volume. To avoid this, use a volume with less load for the data transfer files, or reduce the multiprocessing level of the data transfer for the data transfer processes.
