2.7.1 When changing the data transfer volume to a volume for another purpose
The following discusses notes when changing the data transfer volume to a volume for another purpose (e.g. using it as a volume for file system).
The data transfer volume is created using the initialization utility, the initialization command, and the "Disk Utility". This initialization writes the control information of XL-DATA/MV to the volume. XL-DATA/MV determines the data transfer volume based on whether or not the volume contains that control information.
Therefore, since the control information is not overwritten even when using the volume for another purpose, it is still displayed as a data transfer volume on the "Disk Utility", the "initialization contents display function" and "data transfer status display function". If this is the case, do not use that volume as a data transfer volume of XL-DATA/MV.
