The table below lists disk space requirements required for different uses of the product. These requirements are in addition to the disk space requirements described in "7.3.1 Static Disk Resources". If the free space is insufficient, extend the size of the file system.
Note
The following disk space requirements do not include the disk space for the Agent or Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager if it is installed on the same machine. If the Agent or Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed on the same machine, estimate its disk space separately.
Item No. | Directory | Disk space requirement | Operation |
---|---|---|---|
1 | /$DIR2 | ((10K + 3K x (a+1)) x b) + (50K x c x 2) | Round the calculated value up to a multiple of 20MB. |
2 | /$DIR2 | 30M | Not classified. |
3 | /$DIR3 | 256M | Not classified. |
4 | /$DIR4 | (a+1)xbx700 | Round the calculated value up to a multiple of 4MB, and then add 1MB more. This value is also used to format a TSM database. Estimate a value with enough space to be able to change the backup operation in the future. |
5 | /$DIR4 | 512M | Not classified. |
6 | None | (Logical units of RAID groups allocated to CM0 in charge)x2 | Essential if the following disk array units are used: This space requirement is for use as access paths for I/O to disk array units. |
7 | None | Logical unitsx4 (for load distribution) | Essential if disk array units other than the above are used: |
"$DIR2" is the environment setup directory name to be specified when the Agent or Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed.
"$DIR3" is the variable data directory name to be specified when the Agent or Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed.
"$DIR4" is the database directory name of the ETERNUS SF TSM. Normally use "/opt/tivoli/tsm/server/bin". For details of the usage, see "8.7 TSM Configuration (to be done before Setting of Automatic Activation of Daemons)".
a: Number of backups for one transaction volume. Add the number of backups for generation management and the number for day management.
b: Number of transaction volumes to execute the tape backup operation.
c: Sum of the sizes for backup, restoration, and copy to tape to be performed simultaneously. If Symfoware backup is used, it is the total value for the number of database spaces.
The logical units used as access paths are indicated by the number of logical units, not the disk space. The logical unit can be of any size, but must be referenced as a VTOC label partition (device) from the Tape Server.
