2.3.1 Modify Storage Management Server Information

The following Storage Server information can be modified:

Before proceeding, modify the server name (alias), IP address and port number of the Storage Management Server. For details on how to do that, refer to the "AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide", section "Operational Maintenance" > "Changing the Operating Environment".

Point

This procedure only updates the network information stored in the AdvancedCopy Manager repository. To change the IP address, port number or server name of a Storage Server, it is necessary that the network environment of the operating system must be reconfigured manually. This procedure does not change the operating system's network parameters. Also, the AdvancedCopy Manager daemons or services must be stopped and started before and after this procedure as well.

  1. Check whether the Storage Management Server is also the Storage Server. If this is the case, follow the steps in 'Modify Storage Server Information' and then go to step 5 of this section.

  2. Select a single Storage Management Server from the Site view, then right-click the selected Storage Server to invoke the context menu.

  3. Right-click the selected Storage Management Server to invoke context menu. Select the [Modify] option to invoke the [Modify Storage Server] dialog box.

  4. The following information is required to be provided:

    • Alias : Id or name for the purposes of display only

    • IP address : IP address of the Storage Management Server to be modified

    • Port : Port number for communicating with the Storage Management Server.

  5. Modify the Storage Management Server information, then click [OK].

Execute stgcmmodnode on all the Storage Servers managed under this Storage Management Server. For details on this command, refer to the "AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide", section "Commands" > " Configuration Management Commands" > "stgcmmodnode (Management server information change command)".
