In Windows Server (R) 2008, it is possible to put the disk in the online/offline state using the "Disk Management" window and the DISKPART tool.
When an ETERNUS disk is first detected by Windows Server (R) 2008 Enterprise, Windows Server (R) 2008 Datacenter, and Windows Server (R) 2008 for Itanium-based Systems, it will have a status of "offline".
This status must be changed if the disk is to be used for AdvancedCopy Manager copy operations.
