C.1 System Design/Implementation

 

Partition configuration

The ESP and the boot partition must be on the same disk.

 

Partition size

The MB for the reserved partition size (256 MB) and the partition size set in the "Hard Disk" window of ScWL or Installation Support Tool is 1024 * 1024 bytes. In contrast, the GB for the Fujitsu's PRIMEQUEST internal disk size (73 GB or 147 GB) is 1000 * 1000 * 1000 bytes. Pay attention to this difference when estimating the partition size.

 

OS installation

For installing the OS, free disk space for the reserved partition must be reserved. When you install the OS using ScWL or Installation Support Tool, do not select "Auto" in the "Hard Disk" window. If "Auto" is selected, free space for the reserved partition is not reserved.

 

FC (Fibre Channel) cards

For connecting FC cards to PRIMEQUEST, the BIOS Boot option for the EFI driver must be set to the default value, Disabled.
