Chapter 3 Operation> 3.2 Boot Disk Backup and Restore

3.2.1 Backing Up the Boot Disk

Back up the boot disk with ScWL.

Choose a disk which is in VALID status as the backup target.

The entire disk including the reserved partition will be backed up, and if you change the mirroring configuration, it is necessary to re-create the backup.

  1. Opening the command prompt

    Select [start]-[All Programs]-[Accessories]-[Command Prompt] to open Command Prompt.


  2. Checking the disk to be backed up

    Check and write down the mirror group name, disk name, and location of the disk to be backed up.

    The mirror group name and the disk name are parameters required for restore.
    The disk location is a parameter required for backup.

    Example: The mirror group name is Group0, the disk name is Disk0, and the location is IOU#0-HDD#0.

    > sdxinfo -D

  3. Backing up

    Back up the disk at the location confirmed in step 2. with ScWL.
