Chapter 2 Setup |
This section explains how to unset the mirroring configuration.
To unset mirroring, you must be a user with administrator privileges (a user of the Administrators group).
Opening the command prompt
Select [start]-[All Programs]-[Accessories]-[Command Prompt] to open Command Prompt.
Checking the mirror group name
Check the GROUP field in the sdxinfo -D command output for the mirror group name.
> sdxinfo -D OBJ NAME TYPE GROUP DEVNAM DEVBLKS STATUS ---- ------ ------ ------- ------ ------------ ------- disk Disk0 mirror Group0 0 35291136 VALID disk Disk1 mirror Group0 1 35291136 VALID |
For details on the sdxinfo command, see "sdxinfo - Disk configuration and status viewing."
Unsetting mirroring
With the sdxsysdisk -R command, unset the mirroring.
Responding to the message "Do you want to proceed (yes/no)?," type "yes" and press the Enter key. When the command is ended normally, the system is automatically rebooted.
Example: The mirror group name is Group0.
> sdxsysdisk -R -g Group0 SDX: sdxsysdisk: 64206: INFO: After execution of this command, the system will reboot automatically. Do you want to proceed (yes/no)? yes |
For details on the sdxsysdisk command, see "sdxsysdisk - Mirroring and unmirroring."
Opening the command prompt
After the system is rebooted, select [start]-[All Programs]-[Accessories]-[Command Prompt] to open Command Prompt.
Confirming the current state
If mirroring is unset, the mirror group and mirror disks that belong to that group are excluded from PSDM management. One of the disks in VALID status will then be a disk that stores data and data on the other disks will no longer be ensured.
With the sdxinfo -G command, confirm that the mirror group was removed.
> sdxinfo -G OBJ NAME DISKS BLKS SPARE JRM ----- ------- --------------------------- ------------ ----- --- |
Confirm that the disks were excluded from PSDM management. If excluded, the DKNAME field in the sdxinfo -P command output displays an asterisk (*).
> sdxinfo -P OBJ NAME BLOCKS STATUS DKNAME LOCATION ------ ---- ------------ ------- ------ --------------------------------------- device 0 35291136 * * IOU#0-HDD#0 device 1 35291136 * * IOU#0-HDD#1 |
Select [start]-[Control Panel]-[Administrative Tools]-[Computer Management]-[Disk Management] to check the disk that stores data.
Partitions other than the boot partition (the C drive) may not automatically be mounted after the mirroring is unset. Check mount conditions from "Disk Management," and if they are not currently mounted, mount those partitions manually.
For details on the sdxinfo command, see "sdxinfo - Disk configuration and status viewing."
