4.2.1 Operating OS

The operating systems in which the respective components can run are listed below.

Systemwalker Desktop Patrol English version cannot be operated on a system on which the Japanese version of Systemwalker Desktop Patrol exists.

When "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol MC" is connected with "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS"using multiple NICs (Network Interface Card), please set the IP address resolving names to communication state through the host name of "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS".

Notes for Windows Server(R) 2003 x64 Edition are as follows.

  • Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS should be operated in 32-bit mode.
  • In Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS, IIS must be operated in 32-bit mode.

* MC operation in Windows(R) 98

For the initial version (6.00.00) of Microsoft IME98 that comes with Windows(R) 98, use the update program offered by Microsoft.

MC needs to be operated on the OS which has the same language as the one set/displayed in MC.

  • *1) Remote operation function cannot be operated in the following OS.
    • Windows NT(R) Workstation, Windows NT(R) Server, Windows(R) 98, Windows(R) Me
  • Does not support the user's simple switch feature in Windows(R) XP.
  • Does not support the operation on Client Terminal Service.
  • In Windows(R) 2000 or Windows(R) XP, when selecting "keep my computer on the latest state often" checkbox ("Automation (recommend)" in Windows(R) XP SP2), security patches cannot be installed automatically. When restarting Windows(R) XP SP2, the "Automatic Upgrade" will be stared in "Please protect your computer". Pease select "Do not start now". When selecting "Start automatic upgrade to protect your computer immediately", please select checkboxes other than "Automation (recommend)" in "Automatic Upgrade" in system properties
