Chapter 3 Systemwalker Desktop Patrol Functions

3.9 Client Suppression Function

The client suppression is a function that suppresses users performing the following operations on the PCs with "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" installed, in order to use Systemwalker Desktop Patrol to reliably perform security management

mark1Suppression for stopping CT services

Suppress users stopping the "ITBudgetMGR (INV)" service of "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT".

There are following functions in the suppression for stopping services.

  • This function is effective under the environment with "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" only. It cannot be used in "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS" and "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol DS".
  • This function is effective under Windows NT(R) 4.0, Windows(R) 2000, Windows(R) XP, Windows Vista(R) and Windows Server(R) 2003. Because there is no services considered as OS functions under Windows(R) 98 and Windows(R) ME, so the set value will be ignored even if this function is activated.

mark1Suppression for uninstalling CT

Suppress the uninstalling of "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" through requiring the user to enter a password during uninstall.

If "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" is uninstalled through "Add/Remove Programs" of the Control Panel, a password is required. When performs the uninstalling, the user must contact the administrator, and confirm the password.

This function is effective under the environment with "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" only. It cannot be used in "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS" and "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol DS

mark1Suppression for changing the connected server

Suppress users changing the "Name of server to connect to" through the environment setup window of "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT".

Inactivate the "Name of server to connect to" text area of the "Server" tab on the environment setup window of "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol.
